Poppy (Papi)
Poppy finds her soulmate
Papi, came to us a few months back, when "his" most recent family was moving and couldn't take him. He wasn't a fan of being touched, and his owners reported the same. He was easily handled but just didn't connect with anyone, until a few months later when Sam came to the rescue. It was clear that there was an instant connection. Within 24 hours of adopting, Papi was happily allowing pets and even preening. Fast forward a few weeks, and Papi was confirmed, via dna testing, that he is in fact a SHE. So Poppy it is! Poppy now gets to spend her days next to the pool, and she gets to go LOTS of places with her best friend Sam and has even come back to visit! We're so happy for the both of them!
Sunny
Sunny finds a family to love
Sunny came to us last year from a hoarding house, one of the pictures is on the main page. He was very aggressive, living in a wired shut cage, in a dark room filled with feces, filth and multiple dogs and cats. Not even sure how he was fed or watered due to how intensely it was wired shut. We named him Sunny because even though he endured this treatment, it was evident he had a funny little personality in there. Beautifully feathered, his only "downfall" to adoption, is he was not very trusting and let you know REAL fast that he wasn't going to have it! Fast forward to a family that came to hopefully adopt their dream bird, a macaw. Although Sunny didn't jump in anyone's arms, he was definitely attentive and receptive to them. The family came back a week later to adopt him and he's living his best life now. He gets lots of time out of the cage, gets to roam the house and is even doing better with handling. The family loves him and are even considering adding another macaw to their family.

MoMo, Darren & Quizno
Three-pete adoption
Mo, aka MOMO, was also removed from the hoarding house last year. He was very guarded, and on high alert. We had small victories along the way, and his diet and feather condition were greatly improved. A husband and wife (Chris and Carmin) came to adopt a grey, as it was Carmin's dream bird. Of course, MOMO had other thoughts, and instantly took to Chris. Mo went from standoffish and aggressive, to cuddling and able to be flipped over within a day.
So, they came back to see if another grey would take to Carmin Quizno the grey met Carmin and became fast friends. Yay!!!
On their first visit, Chris and Carmin noticed Darren the macaw, who had just been surrendered. So upon their subsequent visit, Darren was ready for adoption. Chris and Darren were an INSTANT connection again. We all laughed!
All three birds are living their best life and Chris and Carmin are wonderful bird parronts!
Cracker Jack
CJ Healed their Broken Hearts
Cracker Jack came to us as a surrender, with Darren (above). Feisty and a bit nippy but sweet as most Goffins are. Kim and her husband contacted me and had recently lost their beloved cockatoo due to an injury sustained at a vet. They were heartbroken and it had taken months for them to get passed the hurt enough to consider bringing another bird into their lives. When they came to the rescue, Kim was overcome with emotions. Cracker Jack seemed to draw them in and they decided to adopt "him". DNA later confirmed he was a she, so she is now CJ. They had some adjustments, as CJ preferred the husband over the wife initially. But I'm so happy to say, CJ is their sole baby and living her best life now! She goes camping with them, she eats meals and has her daily routine of flying and swooping onto the kitchen island for snacks. They all needed each other to heal. So happy for CJ and his forever family!
Charlie finds his forever home!
Charlie’s story is one of resilience, healing, and hope. Rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, we don’t know much about his early life, but it was clear that at some point, he was deeply loved and cared for. Upon his arrival at Totally Flocked, Charlie faced a major challenge—a large tumor on his shoulder/wing that required immediate removal. He handled it all like the true gentleman he is, and over the past year, we’ve watched him blossom into a shy but sweet soul who stole the hearts of everyone he met.
This past weekend, Charlie made the biggest decision of his life: he chose his forever home. His new family reports that on his very first night, he was already chatting, accepting treats, and proudly showing off his big wings—his signature move and favorite thing to do. While it was incredibly hard to say goodbye, I couldn’t be happier for Charlie and his new family.
Charlie, you’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Wishing you and your family all the happiness in the world. I can’t wait to hear all about your new adventures! 💚🦜
Spooky's Sweet New Chapter
Spooky’s story is a testament to love, sacrifice, and new beginnings. For 24 years, she shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved owner, but as his health declined, he made the heartbreaking yet selfless decision to find her a new loving home. That’s how Spooky came to Totally Flocked, where she blossomed under our care.
Over the summer, Spooky met Sam, who had previously adopted Poppy from us. Sam was instantly drawn to Spooky’s charm and knew she’d be the perfect addition to his flock. Once Poppy settled in, Sam returned for Spooky, and the connection was undeniable.
Now, Spooky and Poppy are living their best lives together! Whether it’s hanging out by the screened-in pool, exploring the great outdoors, or accompanying Sam on adventures around town, Spooky is thriving in her new life. Her original owner is overjoyed to see her living a life full of love and activity—something he could no longer provide.
Spooky, we couldn’t be happier for you and your incredible new family. Here’s to all the joy and love ahead! 💚🦜
Darren's Second Chance
Darren came to us as a bold and spirited bird, full of personality but with an intensity that required a patient and experienced caregiver. He was adopted by a wonderful family who gave him love and care. However, due to his adopter's unforeseen health challenges, Darren returned to our rescue to start the search for his perfect second chance.
Darren's strong personality and need for patience and consistency made finding the right match critical. Enter one of our amazing previous adopters, a person with a special gift for building trust with even the most complex birds. This incredible individual had already provided a loving home for two of our rescues, and they opened their heart and home to Darren as well.
Today, Darren is thriving. Seeing THREE of our rescue birds flourishing in the same home fills us with immense joy! Even better, this adopter keeps us closely connected—regularly visiting the rescue and sharing daily updates and photos of the trio’s adventures.
Darren’s journey reminds us of the importance of resilience, trust, and finding the perfect fit for every bird. We’re overjoyed to see him living his best life and surrounded by love, patience, and understanding.

Roscoe finds his person!
Roscoe’s journey has been filled with love, loss, and now, a beautiful new beginning. After losing his beloved long-term owner to health challenges, Roscoe came to us with a gentle spirit and an open heart. His recent loss of his best friend, Lucky—who had endured abuse before finding love and safety—made Roscoe’s need for connection even more poignant.
Though Roscoe is a sweet and easy-going bird, happily handled by most, today he did something extraordinary—he chose his person. In a moment of undeniable connection, Roscoe made it clear who his heart belonged to, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Are there similarities between his new adopter and his previous owner? Perhaps. Whatever the magic is, we are here for it! Roscoe’s new parents are overjoyed to welcome him into their family, and it’s clear he will be absolutely spoiled and cherished.
Roscoe’s story is a testament to the resilience of these incredible birds and the power of finding the right match. While his journey has had its challenges, it’s clear he has found a place where he will be surrounded by love, care, and all the head scritches he could ask for.

Elmo gets a new family
Starting the New Year with Love! 🐦💚
Our sweet baby Elmo, the Indian Ringneck, has found his forever family just in time to ring in the new year!
Now, he’s starting 2025 with a loving family who is ready to nurture him as he grows into the confident, charming companion we know he’ll become.
Elmo’s new family has already showered him with love, patience, and plenty of enrichment to keep his intelligent mind happy and engaged. We’re so excited to see him thrive in his new home, where he’ll be cherished as a beloved family member.
